Safeguarding Training & Prevention

Why not watch our video showing you what our STOP training is about?

Background to Safeguarding and Prevention Training
At Advocacy Alliance we work with a wide range of vulnerable adults. In 2016 we identified that while many of the support workers and other paid carers receive safeguarding training the adults they supported received very little.  We carried out some research with community groups to look at gaps in training and put together ideas for workshops.  In 2017/18 we received funding from the Police Crime Commission to develop safeguarding and prevention workshops for vulnerable adults. We have now received funding for a second year to roll out the workshops across North Yorkshire.
Aim of the training
The aim of the training is to help vulnerable adults to recognise different types of abuse and how to respond then report this.
Workshops
Our workshops have been developed with  diverse range of adults and are delivered at a venue suited to you and the participants.  We deliver to small groups of 4 to 6 adults over two sessions lasting 1/1.5 hours each. We have developed a number of fun unique activities that can be adapted to suit individual needs. All participants will receive a certificate at the end of the second session. Please talk to us for further details and to discuss individual needs.
The workshops are FREE and as you can see from the feedback received have been a great success so far!
